Welcome To Jaded Phoenix

Welcome to Jaded Phoenix Counseling, a private practice located in Bellingham, WA. My name is Lydia Blackwell, and I utilize a mindfulness based, solution focused approach to aid clients in exploring their authentic selves and behavioral patters. Jaded Phoenix was created with two concepts in mind. The term Jaded: (adjective) is to be made dull, apathetic or cynical by experience or by having or seeing too much of something. Often, clients come to counseling feeling jaded by life, relationships or even their own behavioral patterns. The latter part of the name stems from Greek Mythology in which a Phoenix bird would often burn itself to the ground so that it could become a stronger, more resilient version. I believe people have the power to do the same. With guidance and exploration they can identify issues/patterns they have become jaded by, burn those toxic patterns to the ground and rise from the ashes to become stronger versions of themselves. Whether those ashes are from broken relationships, perpetual marital problems, crippling anxiety, career dissatisfaction or the aftermath of trauma, they have the ability to transform you.  My counseling approach is designed to help you to become aware of patterns and cycles in your life and give you insights, tools and strategies in which to break free of them. I hope to challenge you and aid you in growing into the best version of yourself that you can be. Anxiety is prevalent in today's society and everyone is bound to encounter dark, destitute times that feel hopeless. This does not mean that those times and emotions have to define your relationships, the way you live or who you are. While my experience is diverse, I specialize in treating couples/relational issues and anxiety disorders. See the couples/individual tabs for more information what what specific areas are treated.
